— HOW TO PLAY —————————————————————————————————————

PADS — tap a pad, or press its key, to fire a sound.
Each pad triggers one drum voice, flash, glow + burst:

  [1] PAD 1  → kick          [2] PAD 2  → snare
  [3] PAD 3  → closed hat    [4] PAD 4  → open hat
  [Q] PAD 5  → clap          [W] PAD 6  → low tom
  [E] PAD 7  → hi tom        [R] PAD 8  → mouse click
  [A] PAD 9  → cowbell       [S] PAD 10 → crash
  [D] PAD 11 → shaker        [F] PAD 12 → spoken outro


SEQUENCER — tap dots on the screen
  yellow dot  → active step
  dark dot    → empty step
  white flash → current playing step

Each row is a drum voice.
Each column is one step in the loop.


TRANSPORT — small buttons on the top row
  BANK A/B → switch pattern bank
  <        → shift pattern left
  >        → shift pattern right
  ▶ / pause→ start or stop the loop
  repeat   → repeat triggered notes


KNOBS — drag up / down
  VOL   → master volume
  TUNE  → pitch of every sound
  FX    → low-pass filter (opens / closes the tone)


SLIDERS — drag left / right (on the screen)
  TONE  → high-pass filter (thins / thickens the body)
  DRIVE → distortion / grit


DISPLAY
  [ READY ]      → current machine state
  06/17/2026     → today's date
  step grid      → playable rhythm pattern
  ~ waveform     → reacts to the beat
  ..._001.wav    → fake take name (decorative)
  VOL/TUNE/FX    → live control values
